Floriade 2010 is all about Imagination and runs from Saturday 11th September to Sunday 10 October 2010.

Photo of Laurie and Bailey at the Opening of FloriadeI was privileged to attend the opening of Floriade on Friday 10th September so I can tell you on good authority that  it will be well worth your time to visit.  The flowers are beautiful and the planned entertainment is sure to impress.

This is a photo of my son and I meeting and chatting to a ‘flower’ on the day.

Canbera Furnished Accommodation are putting together some accommodation packages for Floriade.  Be sure to click on our Latest Offers page to see what is available to suit your needs and budget.  Better still, Subscribe to our News so you will always be the first to know.  I was able to get some advance programs for our Guests at the opening, so you can plan your visit to Floriade the day you check-in to make sure you don’t miss any of the events you want to see.

Did you know a major feature of Floriade is Nightfest?  It runs for 5 nights only from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th September.  There are open air films shown each night with the very child-friendly ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Up’ being shown on the last two nights.  We have just 3 properties left available for a Nightfest bookings – Are they yours?  Click here to Book Now and secure one for your visit.  The sponsor for Nightfest this year is Garnier www.garnier.com

Floriade was officially opened by Andrew Barr, MLA with an acknowledgment to country read by Aunty Agnus from the Ngunnawal Elders Council and Kristy Hinze dressed in a beautiful gown bedecked in hand sewn fresh rose petals, it was amazing and she is even more beautiful in person.  I’ve included some photos below.
